My Little Mochi at 4 Months

He is four months old now. Time sure flies. His face changes so much! When he was first born, he looked like a mirror image of his father. Now that he is starting to show is character, people are telling me that he looks more like me. One day, he’ll like his father. The next day, he’ll look like his uncle. Another day, he’ll look like his aunt. Now he looks like me. Isn’t it strange that their face changes every day?
As you can see from the latest pictures posted below, he can smile really wide. As a matter of fact, he laughs/giggles a lot now. He knows when you’re playing with him too. It is so much fun to be around him now. He has grown so much.
When you carry him, he’ll look at other people. If he recognizes you, he’ll smile or giggle. If he doesn’t, he’ll cry or look away. Are babies able to recognize people this early?
He now drinks 6 1/2 ounces of milk. But it’s only every 4 to 5 hours. He should be drinking more and should be able to last around 6 hours by now. Some people, I’ve heard, start giving their infants rice cereal at 4 months. I don’t think I will start giving him solids until he is 6 months old. I don’t want to risk him getting allergies. I’ve heard that there is a risk of them developing allergies if you feed them solids too early.
We took him to the pediatrician two weeks ago and was already 16 pounds! Can you believe that? He has virtually doubled his weight. It only took him 4 months to do that. We have an another appointment today – he’s getting his second set of immunization shots. They’ll probably weigh him again so we’ll see how many pounds he gained in two weeks (should be only 1/2 pound). He’s still chubby as ever. But still wonderfully cute.
So far, we took over 300 pictures of the little guy. I know…that’s a lot. But they grow so fast. And just have to capture every expression 5 times in 5 different angles!
