How to Write Baby Shower Thank You Notes

I had two baby showers, one with my friends and another with my colleagues. It’s amazing how many thank you notes I had to write! I think it took me almost one month to finish writing nearly 40 thank you notes. I’m not sure about you, but I had a hard time figuring out how to write a nice thank you note, especially the ones for my colleagues. It had to be funny yet entertaining. But after writing a few, I realized it wasn’t has difficult as I thought. Here’s how to write nice thank you notes:
- Try to purchase blank thank you cards so you can personalize each one for each individual. They took the time to purchase you a gift and come to your shower, so you should take the time to personalize their thank you’s. Making computer generated cards shows that you put no thought into their thank you card.
- Always use the person’s name in the card. This way, it doesn’t look like it was a generic card that was made for everyone else. Also sign your name at the end of the card.
- Be sure you thank them for the specific gift that they brought. A generic “Thank you for your generous gift” is too impersonal. If you have a big party and don’t think you can remember who brought you what, have a friend or colleague take notes while you open the gifts so you can’t forget.
- Don’t thank them for just the gift, but also for being at the baby shower, for sharing this special milestone with you.
- If you received a gift that meant a lot to you or had a special memory or meaning, share it with the person on the card. It will make the person feel that their gift was extra special.
- If the baby is already born when you send out your cards, try to include a picture of your baby!
Good luck!
